LCC Classes

These cardio & fitness classes are included in the L.C.C Membership but are available for anyone to attend. €5 for non-members.

Class Frequency

11 LCC Classes run during the week.

Tums & Bums – Tues & Thurs 6:15pm – 7:00pm

A body toning class incorporating all the core muscle groups including standing and floor based exercises and finishing with tai chi stretching.

Zumba – Tues & Thurs 7:00pm – 8:00pm

This class is full of dance moves from both Latin and modern music, loose your inhibitions and let the music lead you. Great way to lose 100’s of calories without realizing it.

Morning Movers – Tues & Thurs 9:45am – 11:15am

Come along to this fun and friendly class. Meet new friends and get a great workout as well. This class is just what it says, it is a mixture of all types of exercises, very effective and loads of fun.

Circuit Classes – Mon & Wed 6:15pm – 7:15pm

The ultimate all-round workout incorporating both aerobic and strength training. A variety of different exercises that will get you fit and in shape.

Beginners Exercise Class – Mon & Wed 7:15pm – 8:15pm

Ideal for those new to exercise and cardio. Lose weight and improve your health.

Core Conditioning – Fri 6:15pm – 7:15pm

The ultimate all round workout incorporating both aerobic and strength training. A variety of different exercises that will get you fit and in shape.

Battle Core

High-intensity cardio workout, which targets abs and core and helps with body toning.

Designed to improve your cardio, burn fat, work your core and overall strength.

These classes are not included in the LCC Membership.

Build up your stamina and be able to complete a 5k.

Couch to 5K – Mon, Tues & Thurs 6:30pm – New term begins July 9th

In 8 weeks you will be amazed by what you achieve and you can do a full 5k. New runners can attend any of the first few weeks of the term.

Run For Fun – Mon & Tues 7:15pm

Suitable for Couch to 5K Graduates.

Martial Arts

Choose from a number of different forms of martial arts that can be used to advance through training, self-defense or fitness.

The Donegal Kickboxing Club is taught by Renshi Josie Murray.

Kickboxing is a stand-up combat sport based on punching and kicking. This class is excellent for those who want to train for competition, self-defense or even just general fitness.

Jiu Jitsu – Wed 9:00pm – 11:00pm

Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport and self-defense system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. Jiu Jitsu promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using proper technique and leverage. The Donegal Jiu-Jitsu Federation classes are taught by Renshi Josie Murray who is a 5th Dan Black Belt in Jikishin Jiu Jitsu and who is also affiliated to the world famous Gracie Jiu-Jitsu family in Brazil. Yoga/Pilates/Meditation

A number of different classes that will improve your flexibility, help with movement, fitness and body toning. Choose a class that will suit your skill level. All welcome.

General Yoga
General yoga class suited to beginners and those who are not presently involved in any physical activity. Those who have some experience in yoga practice are also welcome. Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga yoga class suited to those who have already gained experience in Primary Series practice. The beginners Ashtanga yoga class suited to beginners and also those who may have gained limited experience in Primary Series practice. This practice will particularly benefit those who are committed to developing strength, improved levels of fitness, stamina, flexibility and deep relaxation. Call 0879393170 for more details.

Pilates with Aine
There has been an explosion in the popularity of Pilates in recent years and the Community Centre is pleased to offer courses in this highly sought after activity. Excellent for strengthening the core muscles which will boost your entire body. Courses are ongoing throughout the year and last for 6 weeks for €55. Contact Aine on 087 6335230 for booking info. Please do not drop in as we may not be able to accomodate you and don’t want you to be disappointed if you show up and there is no room for you!

Falun Gong
A spiritual exercise and meditation regime with similarities to t’ai chi ch’uan, practised predominantly in China.

Five & Jive – Wed 8:30pm -10:00pm €5 per person
Jive is the biggest dance craze in Ireland…again! Polish your moves to the very best in Country music (and some rock and roll too) every Wednesday night. All ages and abilities welcome with beginners tutelage from 8:30pm to 9pm. We will also be teaching a “Move of the Night” for those who want to add something new to their dance repertoire! No course charges, just drop in and learn to jive.

Line Dancing – Mon (Adv) 8:00pm – 9:30pm, Tues (Imp) 8:00pm – 9:30pm €5 per person (Returns September 11th)
Line Dancing is a fun and easy way to learn a dance style that requires no partner. It’s a fantastic way to keep fit and a relaxed social night out. Ballroom Dancing – Thur 8:45pm – 10:00pm
